Dennis Claud Schlegel, 76, of Huntsville, passed away Thursday. Mr. Schlegel retired from the US Army as a Master Sergeant after over 20 years of service. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama, Huntsville. He was employed at McDonnell Douglas and Boeing, where he worked on the Space Shuttle and the International Space Station.
Dennis was a good man, a devoted husband, and loving father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Paul Schlegel, Phil Schlegel, and daughter, Michelle Blevins. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Schlegel; daughter, Stacy Riley; son-in-law, Randy Riley; son, Eric Schlegel; grandchildren, Rebecca Schlegel-Suwarow, William Jackson Riley, and Reese Riley; sister, Claudia Goodwater; and son-in-law, Emmett Blevins.
Services will be held at a later date.
