James A. Hughes, 101, of Huntsville, born in Hazel Green, went home to his Lord Jesus on Thursday, December 30, 2021.
James loved fishing, hunting, golf, and college football. He was a Navy veteran, respected businessman, Gideon, special “Uncle Jimmy”, “Daddy”, and friend to many.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 69 years, Irene Smith Hughes; parents Dan and Flonnie Gowen Hughes; brother Cecil Hughes (Jo); sister-in-law Rozell Franklin (Billy); brother-in-law James Smith (Aleene); and son-in-law George Johns.
Survivors include his daughter, Faye Hughes Johns; son, Danny Hughes; grandson, Jeff Hughes (Megan); great-grandson, Marshall Hughes; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and loving caregivers.
A private graveside service will be held.
