Sumner “Bud” Arthur White of Athens passed away on Thursday, December 2nd, 2021, at Huntsville Hospital. Mr. White was born on July 4th, 1946, to Thomas Morgan White, Jr. and Virginia Noles White.
Mr. White is survived by his wife of twenty-one years Bonnie White of Athens, AL; daughter Ginger Atkins (Kevin) of Jasper, AL; grandchildren Bryant Atkins (Emma) of Harvest, AL, Crimson Atkins of Jasper, AL; great-granddaughter Charlee Harper Atkins of Harvest, AL; brothers Ricky White (Bianca) of Woodstock, GA, Mike White (Anne) of Marietta, GA, Joey White of Jasper, GA; and Eddy White of Jasper, GA; sister Sue White of Jasper, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mr. White is preceded by his parents Thomas and Virginia White; wife Peggy White; son Jeff White; and sister June Morgan.
Funeral services for Mr. White will be Sunday, December 5th, 2021, at 2:30 p.m. at Northside Church of Christ, with Levi Sides officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 to 2:20 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at New Salem Cemetery.
Mr. White was a minister for many years. He pastored for twenty years at Hatt Church of Christ in Walker County, AL. For the past twenty-one years he served as pastor at the Northside Church of Christ. He enjoyed collecting antique cars, woodworking, enjoyed landscaping, and playing the fiddle and guitar. Mr. White loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved serving others and served God with his all.
