Brenda Kay Leatherwood, 71, died Thursday, October 21, 2021at North Ms. Medical Center, Tupelo, MS. She was born in Arkansas and was a homemaker. She was a member of Maud Church of Christ but attended Tishomingo Church of Christ.
Services will be Sunday, October 24, 4 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS with Bro. James Joyce and Michael Hodgin officiating. Burial will be in Tishomingo City Cemetery, Tishomingo, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by three children – Angie Belue (David) Dennis, MS, Kim Bascomb (Greg) Glen, MS and Kirk Leatherwood (Tanya), Iuka, MS; five grandchildren – Keshia Senkbeil, Zachary Bascomb, Joshua Bascomb, Hannah Maddox (Chris) and Macy Leatherwood; four great-grandchildren – Paisley Bascomb, Blaine Senkbeil, Maverick Senkbeil and Emma Senkbeil; one sister – Kathryn Sullivan and two brothers – Buddy VanWinkle (Maggie) and Ricky VanWinkle (Linda).
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-three years, J.W. Leatherwood, her parents, Ines and Irene Knight VanWinkle, two infant sisters and a brother, Wayne VanWinkle.
Pallbearers will be Zack Bascomb, Josh Bascomb, Chris Maddox, Sam Hampton, Bobby Gresham and Michael Hodgin.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 23, 6-8 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS.
