Beverly Jean Schneider Kuykendall
May 17, 1941 – October 11, 2026
Beverly Jean Schneider Kuykendall, 85, of New Market, Alabama, passed
away on October 11, 2026, at home, surrounded by her children who loved
her dearly. She was born on May 17, 1941, in Roy, New Mexico, to Carvin
Schneider and Eris Schneider, and grew up in Cloudcroft, New Mexico.
Beverly was known for her gentle, caring nature and her wry sense of
humor. She loved a good book, doing crosswords and word games, an
afternoon spent with her favorite classic westerns, and a fierce game of
Uno or Rummy. She was a feisty, competitive card player, and no one gave
her a better run for her money than her daughter Vicki.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carvin and Eris Schneider of
Ruidoso, New Mexico; her husband, Arnie Edward Kuykendall of Brownsboro,
Alabama, a veteran of the United States Army whom she met while he was
stationed in Alamogordo, New Mexico; her sister, Gloria Schneider of
Roswell, New Mexico; and her brother, Ronald Schneider of Roswell, New
Mexico. She is survived by her children, Vicki Moore and husband Dennis
Moore of Huntsville, Alabama; Dawn Harmond of Brownsboro, Alabama; Lance
Kuykendall of New Market, Alabama; and Kevin Kuykendall of South
Windsor, Connecticut. She is also survived by her sister, Kathryn
“Patty” Smith of Dallas, Texas; her granddaughters, Amanda Tipton and
husband Matt Tipton, and Rebecca Hunt; her great-grandsons, Alex Tipton
and Isaac Hunt; and her faithful canine friend, Zeke.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caring
people at Hospice of the Valley, especially nurses and aides Shellie,
Bailey, Haley, and Karina, for the compassion and dignity they brought
to Beverly’s final days.
