Chloe's Fund Logo.jpg FLORENCE-It was a busy summer. Too many animals let out of their homes to play, ending up injured by other animals and cars. Needless to say, Chloe’s Fund really needs your help as we watch the Animal Hospital bills pile high. Our wonderful group of bakers have been busy getting into the Fall spirit and playful with their Halloween treats. Homemade treats will be available from 10am-1pm on Saturday, October 23 at the Florence-Lauderdale Animal Services (FLAS) Building, located at 3240 Roberson Road in Florence. We also have our new Chloe’s Fund Dessert Cookbook with some of our bakers’ dessert recipes! All proceeds from these sales benefit Chloe’s Fund in helping with medical expenses for animals at Florence Lauderdale Animal Services.

Chloe’s Fund was started in March of 2017 after Shelter volunteers, Glen and Debby Nelson lost their beloved dog of 16 years, Chloe. After Chloe’s passing, Debby set out on a mission to help as many sick and injured Florence-Lauderdale Animal Shelter animals as possible. Since its inception, Chloe’s Fund vetted countless number of cats and dogs suffering from various illnesses and in need of medical attention and medication. Prior to Chloe’s Fund, the Florence Lauderdale Animal Shelter could not treat every unwell cat or dog that entered its doors. Their only hope was the possibility of a rescue organization stepping up and financing the needed veterinary care. For those animals with costly medical bills predicted and no rescue hero in sight, our dedicated shelter employees were faced with heartbreaking decisions; these decisions never get easier and no one ever willingly wants to make them.

With your continued help, Chloe’s Fund can continue saving the lives of hundreds of animals!
