Deborah L. McClure, 53 of Huntsville, AL, passed away on 7 Aug 2021 surrounded by loved ones at Hospice Family Care. Deborah was born in Miami, FL on 1 Nov 1967 and was adopted six weeks later by JoAnn Ausborn Wyatt and Alfred E. Wyatt. After searching her entire life, in April of 2017, Deborah was reunited with her birth family that included her mother, Deborah “Debbie” Smith-Becker, father, Theodore E. Smith, four full blooded siblings, Stephen J. Smith, Deanna L. Smith, Ryan E. Smith and Donald T. Smith.
Deborah went to Huntsville High School and graduated in 1986. She earned her bachelor’s from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL. She worked as a contracts manager for SAIC for the last 4 years. She is an animal lover and activist, but her heart belonged to the game of pool in which she played in a league for the last 20 years. Her pool team name was SNAFU.
Deborah is survived by her wife Val Harris of Huntsville, AL, her children Jason Davon Cole and Aricia Joseph Irodel, sister Suzanne Wyatt, nieces Crystal Mass and Emily Sanchez, nephew Just Wyatt, great niece Emily Blevins, great nephews Jude Maas and Ian Maas.
Funeral service will be at Spry Funeral Home on Sunday 15 Aug 2021 at 3:00 p.m. with Mike Kindred officiating. Visitation will be at Spry Funeral Home on Sunday 15 Aug 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Family visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. There will be snacks and refreshments available. Directly after Deborah’s service we would love for everyone to come to Diamond’s and continue celebrating her life.
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers would be greatly appreciated by Deborah and her family to National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc., Forgotten Felines where Deborah and Val volunteered, or the Greater Huntsville Humane Society.
