Rebecca J. “Becky” Shedd, age 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 7, 2021 with her daughters at her side. A lifelong resident of Adamsville, AL she was born to Cliff and Pearl Humphrey on June 28, 1941. She is preceded in death by her husband, Terry R. Shedd, less than one year ago. Becky joined Terry in heaven on the day of their 62nd wedding anniversary. Becky is also predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her daughters, Terri Kirchler (Kris) and Ginny Hughes and grandson, Joshua Hughes.
Becky was a private person, but anyone who knew her, realized what a kind heart she had. She was raised in the Christian faith from the time she was a little girl. She loved gospel music and played the piano for churches she attended. Becky taught piano lessons for many years, and was also pianist for several gospel quartets that Terry sang in.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Compassus Hospice and Palliative Care for the compassion and personalized care they provided. Also, much love and gratitude to Millie Caffee, sister-in-law, for her remarkable kindness and support.
Services will be held at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home in Dora, AL on Wednesday August 11, 2021. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm with visitation held one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at Midway cemetery in Adamsville. Sister Marie Martin officiating. New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home directing.
