Walter H. Hall 85, of Hartselle passed away August 2, 2021 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. Walter was a loyal husband, father, brother, and friend. He was born December 13, 1935 to Dennis and Ella Mae Nelson Hall in the Small community of Wren, Alabama.
He was a proud veteran serving eight years in “Uncle Sams” Navy. He retired from Monsanto in Decatur after 34 years as a multi-craft mechanic. Most knew Walter as a passionate gardener who knew how to grow the best fruits and vegetables from one of the largest gardens around in the community. His fruits of his labor touched many and was his way of sharing Christ like love to fellow neighbors, family, friends, and with his church.
He was member of Bethel Baptist in Hartselle where he served as a Deacon, Usher and official greeter for more than 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his dear wife of 57 years, Mae Dean Hall who he always referred to as “little momma.” One son, Tim (Chrissa referred to as “my girl.” Sisters Myrtle of Wren, Alabama, Dorothy Smith (Billy),of Aldridge Grove, Alabama; Vicky Sanford, Hartselle, Alabama. Brothers, Corbet (Juldeen) of Moulton, Alabama and Curt (Freda) of Prattville, Alabama.
The family would like to thank Dr. Jeffrey Johnson, The Terrace in Priceville, Ms. Peggy Wallace (Home Instead) and the caring staff at Decatur Morgan Hospital for their loving care and comfort during this time and in recent months.
