Matilda “Tillie” Daniel, 80 of Athens, passed away on Monday, August 2nd, 2021, at her residence. Mrs. Daniel was born on October 24th, 1940, to Lawrence Owens and Irma Marks Owens.
Mrs. Daniel is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jerry Daniel; children Terri Daniel of Florida, and Wendy Daniel of Athens; grandchildren Chesley and Allyson; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers Michael Owens (Shea) of Elkmont, and Don Owens (Darla) of Alabama; and sisters Virginia Woodall of Decatur, Hope Williams of Huntsville, Carol Clem (Larry) of Athens, and Sue Smith of Elkmont.
Preceded in death by her parents; 1 sister; and 3 brothers.
A graveside service for Mrs. Daniel will be on Thursday, August 5th, at 11:00am at Dement Cemetery, with Mike Owens officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Hospice of Limestone County.
