Edna Louise Mercer Jones, 86, of Huntsville passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 31. Edna had been a native of Huntsville for almost 50 years.
Edna loved quilting, gardening, and spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by Harold Gwen Jones, parents, Mamie Louise Mercer and Henry Hyman Mercer, and her sister, Ruby Dell Smallwood. Survivors include her children, Lee Jones of Huntsville, Andrea McNeil of Orangevale, CA, and Kimberly Ruf of Huntsville; five grandchildren, Jonathan McNeil of Morena Valley, CA, Wesley Kelley of Huntsville, Nathan Kelley of Owensboro, KY, William Kelley of Princeton, AL, and Alexandrea Jones of Huntsville; and nieces, Vicki Shulstad of Charlotte, NC, and Lynda Johnson and Terry Sanders of Toomsboro, GA.
Edna’s family would like to thank all of the wonderful caregivers that provided comfort and support throughout her life and final days.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 14 at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Toomsboro, GA.
