Edith Marie Henderson Russell Edith Marie Henderson Russell, age 83 of Winchester, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Bailey Manor Assisted Living. A native of Franklin County, she was born on December 10, 1937 in Cowan to the late Jesse and Maude (Tucker) Henderson. After her retirement from OAO at AEDC in 1996, Edith worked at Lynch Realty and would help deliver flowers at Spencer’s during the holidays. Edith’s energetic nature and love for entertaining was apparent as she loved to visit with friends and never met a stranger. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and played Bunko with the ladies social group, as well as a volunteer with the Franklin County High School band in the 1990’s. Edith was an avid University of Tennessee Volunteers football and women’s basketball fan. She was a member of Cowan Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas Henderson and James Henderson. Edith is survived by her son, John D. Russell Jr of Winchester; granddaughter, Mariah Vanzant of Huntsville; and sister, Shirley Luttrell of Winchester. Visitation will be from 12-2 pm on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Dr. Rev.
