Gary Allen Parke, age 73 of Winchester, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at his residence. Mr. Parke was born in St Louis, Missouri on July 14, 1947 to the late Truman and Maurice Lydia (Hanne) Parke. Before his retirement, he had been employed as a drafting and math instructor in the vocational department at Lincoln County High School, where he had been named Teacher of the Year. He was a life-long baseball fan, third-generation St. Louis Cardinal fan and also loved model railroading and woodworking. Mr. Parke is survived by his wife, Janice Liechty Parke of Winchester; son, William Craig Parke of Winchester; brother, Keith (Emily) Parke of Murfreesboro; sisters, Karen (Michael) Morgan of Gallatin, and Diane (Russell) Parmele of Kernersville, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Karen Liechty of Estill Springs; brothers-in-law, Don (Judy) Liechty of Huntsville, and Kenneth (Sara) Liechty of Estill Springs; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
