Michael Lee Murray, 69, of Huntsville, passed away on May 6, 2021, surrounded by his dearly beloved family. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ginny Green Murray; sons, Justin Lee Murray (Andie) of Atlanta, GA, and Jared Michael Murray (Lacey) of Birmingham, AL; granddaughter, Bradlee Bea Murray (Atlanta, GA); brother, William F. Murray, Jr., of Birmingham, AL; and sister, Susan Murray Vincent, Baton Rouge, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, William F. and Marie C. Murray.
Michael worked at Huntsville City Schools as a School Psychologist and taught Special Education in Jefferson County Schools. He gave 38 years of his life to education, a career that came from his heart. Michael grew up in Birmingham, AL, graduated from Woodlawn High School and was Senior Class President. He graduated from the University of Alabama with a BS in Special Education, a MS in Education, and an AA in School Psychology. His true loves were music, camping, fishing and Alabama football.
The service will be held at Laughlin Service Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 11th, with visitation starting at 12:00 p.m. Please wear a mask. There will also be masks available. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (https://act.alz.org/site/Donation).
