James Casey, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at Marshall Medical Center South.
James was born on October 12, 1942, in Forrest City, Arkansas. He was a longtime resident of Boaz. He worked 28 years at the Steele Mill, but spent a lifetime doing what he loved, farming. On July 21, 1962, he married his wife, Shirley. They raised three children, a daughter, Tammy, and two sons, Michael and Stephen.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Albertville Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Forrest Home Cemetery. Rev. Andrew Mikkelsen will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Sanders Casey and his sons, Michael Casey (Misty) and Stephen Casey (DeeDee), and a brother, Bobby Taylor (Linda). He has three grandsons and two granddaughters.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Casey Moore, brothers, R. V. Casey and Ralph Casey, and sister, Dorothy McCaffery.
