Mr. Harold Wayne Freeman, age 94, of Guntersville, passed on to glory Sunday, April 18, 2021 at his residence.
Mr. Freeman was born on March 18, 1927, in Arab to Martin Smirl Freeman and Lillie Belle Simpson Freeman. He was a lifelong Baptist. Harold loved traveling and flying. He started flying at age 14 on his family farm. In his later years, he loved trading and working on the family genealogy. He and his wife Linda traveled a lot and enjoyed family and friends.
Mr. Freeman is survived by his wife of 54 years; Linda Smith Freeman; a son, Tony Wayne Elrod (Marilyn); grandchildren, Mark Elrod and Amanda Elrod; 5 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Gail Freeman Ellison (Robert); and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Freeman is preceded in death by his parents, Martin Smirl Freeman and Lillie Belle Simpson Freeman; brothers, Verbon Freeman (Lorene), Lowell Freeman (Fannie), Lamar Freeman (Mary Ann); a sister, June Freeman Franklin (Jack); nephews, Brent Freeman and Bruce Freeman; and a great nephew, Michael Freeman.
A memorial service will take place at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. Bro. Randy Blakely officiating, Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.
