Ruth Hicks Callis Apple (Age 85) of Greenbrier, TN passed away at home on Thursday, March 25, 2021.
She is preceded in death by her parents George and Nettie Hicks; brothers, George D. Hicks, Jr, Paul R. Hicks; sisters, Mary Francis Fiori, Grace Hicks and Edith Kleam.
She was employed by the Robertson County Board of Education as Secretary and Bookkeeper at Greenbrier Elementary School for twenty-five years. She was a Girl Scout and a Cub Scout leader. She was a member of Hillcrest Church of Christ and a past member of the Women’s Board of Robertson County Farm Bureau. She loved her family and family gatherings and enjoyed camping.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Apple; daughter, Jennifer (Jeff) Bedwell of White House, TN; sons, Craig (Wynne) Callis of Hendersonville, TN, Todd (Grace) Apple of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Jenny (Owen) Slaughter of Hendersonville, TN, Katie (Bryce) Davidson of Columbia, TN, Jordan Bedwell of White House, TN, Jeffrey Bedwell of White House, TN, Annie Apple of Nashville, TN, Jacob Apple of Boulder, CO; 6 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Vern Kleam of Goodlettsville, TN; best friend, Betty Wells of Hartsville, TN and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Springfield Memorial Gardens in Springfield, TN on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at 3:00 PM. Friends are welcome to attend.
