Stephen Wayne Jaspering, age 63, of Elkmont, Alabama passed away at Athens-Limestone Hospital, Athens, AL on March 13, 2021. He was born on April 24, 1957 to the late Delmar Lee Jaspering and Leota Rosemary Cook Thornhill. Stephen was an avid Harley Davidson rider. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, camping, and his birddogs. Retiring after 28 years of service as a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army, he went to work for S3 INC., Huntsville, AL as a logistics analyst.
Stephen Wayne Jaspering is survived by his wife, Dorothy Beliel Jaspering of Elkmont, AL; second mother, Connie Jaspering of Washington, IA; children, James (Dwayna Chandler) Jaspering of Clarksville, IN, Jennifer (Craig) Meeks of Tullahoma, TN, and Greg (Charity) Jaspering of Brookwood, AL; brother, Dean (Lori) Jaspering of Washington, IA; sister, Marilyn Jaspering of Colorado; step-sister, Lori (Rich) York of Troy, MO; grandchildren, Garrett (Abby) Klein, Grant Klein, Gavin Klein, Gunnar Klein, and Greyson Meeks; and one great-grandchild on the way.
The family will have a memorial service at his home on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Combat Vets Motorcycle Club Chapter 28-2.
