Reba Maude Payne Denton, age 74 of Cowan, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at The Waters of Winchester. She was born in Franklin County on October 19, 1946 to the late James E. and Nina (Champion) Payne. Reba worked as a LPN for forty-four years. Everyone who knew her loved her. She was a loving and caring mother as well as a devoted wife. Reba enjoyed gardening, fishing, sewing, and doing crafts. She always loved family gatherings and played pranks on those she was close to. Reba was a member of Broadview Baptist Church and Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold M. Denton; son, James W. Curtis; and daughter-in-law, Sara Louise (Vaughn) Curtis. Reba is survived by her loving son, Tommy (Renee) Curtis of Cowan; stepson, Marty (Kelly) Denton of Winchester; sister, Linda (Tommy) Hall of Winchester; brothers, James Ray (Patsy) Payne of Decherd, Charley (Gaye) Payne of Winchester, and Robbie (Kim) Payne of Decherd; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, December 27, 2020 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev.
