John Milburn Holt Sr., age 75 of Pelham, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System in Sewanee. John was born in Sherwood on February 24, 1945 to the late, Arvis and Ruthie Jane Jackson Holt. He was a member of the Franklin County High School class of 1963, and was employed with CSX as an electrician until his retirement in 2005. In his free time he loved to go golfing and fishing, watch sports (especially softball), and spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. John will always be remembered as being faithful, loving, caring, and a great provider and father to many. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Beulah Kirk, Willie Matlock, Shirley Payne, Laura Singleton, and James “Bud” Holt. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Lana Haddon Holt of Pelham; children, Pam Medley of Huntland, Dale (Bobbie) Fletcher of Winchester, Jane (Randy) Holt-Nunley of Soddy-Daisy, John Holt Jr. of Pelham; grandchildren, Briana (Chris) Keith, Travis (Edna) Winton, Marjorie Fletcher, Kimberly Fletcher, Lauren (Robert) Egeland, Kelsey (Cody) Moore, Jonathan (Kayla) Holt, Gabreille Holt, Nick Holt, Matthew Holt, Danni Tucker, Tamara (Brandon) Hooper; great-grandchildren, Dalton, McKenzie, Shelby, Katelin, Isabella, Lacie, Destiny, Alex, Jenson, Courtney, Andrew, Leonna, Gracie, Jenna, Hazel, Eric; brother, Arvis “Buddy” Holt of Hendersonville; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Monday, December 21, 2020 at Mt.
