Mae Galloway, 84, a longtime resident of Huntsville passed away on November 10, 2020. Mrs. Galloway worked in the aerospace industry with Aerojet for over 30 years retiring to enjoy grandchildren, family, and friends. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Always leading by example with grace and a determined spirit.
Mrs. Galloway was an active member at Latham United Methodist Church teaching Sunday School and helping in the nursery; but, most recently, she participated in small groups and circle meetings. We would like to express our thanks for all they have done for our family.
When visiting her daughter in Atlanta, Mae would often enjoy going to Jacob’s Ladder school to visit with the teachers, students, and staff. Jacob’s Ladder serves children with a full spectrum of neurological and behavioral differences. It brought her much joy!
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Richard “Jerry” Galloway. She is survived by her daughter, Michele Galloway Soteres (Steve); two grandchildren, Steven Jr. and William; and her brother, Kenneth Lee (Hazel).
A graveside service will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery on Wednesday, November 18, at 11 o’clock with Reverend Robert Sparkman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request memorials be made to Jacob’s Ladder School (in memory of Mae Galloway), attn: Billing Dept., 407 Hardscrabble, Roswell, GA 30075 or https://www.jacobsladdercenter.com/donate.
Mae’s quiet and gentle way will be dearly missed by many!
