Diane Joan Sykstus was born on September 18, 1942 in Chicago, IL and passed away on November 12, 2020 in Huntsville, AL. She was the daughter of Fred and Nellie Ghilardi. Diane was a graduate of Alvernia High School and Roosevelt University for both her BS and MS degrees in MIS. She spent the majority of her career as a computer programmer at Honeywell in Arlington Heights, IL. After retirement, Diane taught computer programing at DeVry and Kaplan Universities for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Ronald John Sykstus.
Survivors include her 3 sons, Ron (Patty), John (Moira), and Bill (Chris); brother, Ronald Ghilardi (Diana) and family; sister-in-law, Joan Bzdon (Larry); cousin-in-law, Diane Sykstus Pukal and family; and by eight grandchildren, Jack, Tom, Sam, Alice, Emily, Sarah, Erin and Jennifer.
A memorial service will be planned at a future date in Chicago, IL.
