Mrs. Betty Tate Sandlin of Athens, Alabama passed from this life on November 7, 2020. She was born on April 11, 1931 to Lloyd Tate and Trudy Tate in west Tennessee. Her family moved to Chicago, IL when she was a child and she lived there until marrying Nick in 1961, then moving to Athens.

Preceeded in death by her parents, Mrs. Sandlin is survived by her husband Nick Sandlin, her sons Brett Sandlin and David Sandlin with his wife Elena, her grandson Nick Sandlin, sister Judy Tate, several brothers and sisters in law, as well as nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Sandlin lived her life as a faithful child of God and worshiped with the Jackson Drive Church of Christ since 1967. She was of a meek and quiet spirit, and her influence will live on. She was a loving and devoted wife to her husband Nick for 59 years, a loving mother and beloved by her children, and the best grandmother in the world to her grandson. She worked tirelessly for her family, always wanting to do more. Nothing concerned her more than their spiritual well being. She truly loved her family and is deeply loved by them.

Funeral services will be private, with visitation for family only.

Donations may be made to Hospice of Limestone County.
