Patsy Louise Lemarr Golley Patsy Louise Lemarr Golley was born on January 6, 1939 in Knoxville, TN to Clyde Lemarr and Helen Vineyard. While at the University of Tennessee Knoxville Pat met Paul T. Golley on a blind date that led to a loving marriage of 43 years. The couple moved to Huntsville, AL in 1958 for Paul to pursue a prestigious career at NASA. Soon thereafter their first daughter, Kelly, was born. Four years later Julie followed completing the family of four.

Pat enjoyed a wide range of activities through the years: camping and skiing when the girls were young, nights at the symphony with Paul, and following her granddaughters’ adventures while growing up. While her girls were in high school, Pat attended nursing school at Calhoun Community College. She had a successful career as a nurse at the NASA MSFC medical center helping all with their medical needs and being their friend. Pat’s joyful spirit and loving nature made the lives of everyone around her brighter.

After retirement, Pat carried this spirit into volunteering with Friends, Inc., and Meals on Wheels. Pat was an accomplished gardener, and loved to cook food from around the world, but also enjoyed pizza every Friday night with her family. Her grandchildren looked forward to Christmas Eve dinners with different world cuisines and always ended with Pat’s homemade English Trifle for dessert.

A dedicated member of Central Presbyterian Church and a former member of First Presbyterian Church, Pat made dear friends at her Bible study group. The Golley family were longtime residents of Monte Sano mountain, where Pat met her lifelong group of friends who stayed close with weekly movies and dinner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Golley, and her brother, Clyde Lemarr. Pat will be dearly missed by her daughters, Kelly Louise Looney (Jim) and Julie Annette Fowler (Matt), and her granddaughters, Emery, Hannah, Erin and Sarah.

A memorial gathering will be held between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., Thursday September 10th, at The View at Burritt Museum on Monte Sano Mountain. This will not be a formal service, but a chance to drop-by and speak with the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to Central Presbyterian Church or Friends, Inc.
