Funeral services for Mr. Joshua Edmondson, age 36 of Ashland, were held on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Pastor David Wilkerson and Rev. Bud Jacks officiating. Burial followed at Valley Grove Cemetery in Hollins, AL.
Mr. Edmondson passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at UAB Palliative Care. A lifelong resident of Clay County, Josh was a blessing to his family for more years than they ever imagined. He loved his family and always wanted to encourage them.
He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Edmondson of Ashland; his father, James Edmondson (Mary Ann) of Lineville; his siblings: James Edmondson, Jr. of Ashland, Albert Edmondson and John Edmondson, both of Lineville, Margaret Tison (Ronnie) of Rockford, Christy Daugherty (Ronald) of Delta, and Jeremy Edmondson (Samantha) of Stewartville; numerous nieces and nephews that loved their uncle “Squish” along with several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James W. Edmondson and Lessie Edmondson; his maternal grandmother, Eunice Jones Potts; his brother, David Edmondson; and his nephew, Jamie Edmondson.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland is in charge of the arrangements.
