Graveside services for Mr. A.V. “Buddy” Lowry, age 87 of Cragford, were held on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at 9:00 A.M. at Ashland City Cemetery with Bro. Calvin Pope and Bro David Messer officiating.
Mr. Lowry passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Clay County Nursing Home. A lifelong resident of Clay County, Buddy lived in many places but Clay County was always home. He was a hardworking man that pulp wooded for most of his life to provide for his family.
He is survived by his wife, Willie Mae Lowry of Cragford; three daughters: Louann Pope (Calvin) of Lineville, Wilma Stewart and Latricia White (Michael), both of Bluff Springs; three sons: Doston, Gene and Joe Lowry (Pauline), all of Bluff Springs; his sister, Ann Howell of Tennessee; two brothers: Charles Lowry (Nell) of Lineville and Henry Lowry of Texas; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A.V. Lowry, Sr. and Lillian Crawford Lowry; his first wife, Mattie Lou Lowry; and his brother, James Lowry.
Lamar Pope, Christopher Pope, Austin White, Timmy Lowry, Floyd Stewart, Tony Lowry, Scottie Lowry, and Steven Lowry will serve as pallbearers.
