Funeral services for Mr. Ollie Ray Mayo, age 64 of Ashland, were held on Monday, August 17, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Rev. David Holcombe officiating. Burial followed at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Mayo passed away on Friday, August 14, 2020 at his home. A lifelong resident of Clay County, he worked at Avondale Mills for 2 years and at Wellborn Cabinets until he retired. He was a member of the Bluff Springs Volunteer Fire Department. He loved to coon hunt and deer hunt, and enjoyed working in his garden and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Regina Mayo of Ashland; a daughter, Misti Pubillones of Philadelphia, PA; siblings, Debra Jordan (Pete) of Lineville, Jimmy Mayo of Delta, Paul Mayo of Ashland and Juanita Gortney (Charles) of Ashland; several nieces and nephews, extended family and many caring friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Francis Louise Wright Mayo and a sister, Helen Oates.

Active Pallbearers will be David Wheeles, Chris Mayo, Leslie Harris, Sr., Leslie Harris, Jr., George Harris, JJ Jordan, Ryan Jones and David Harris.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Randy Casey and Stevie Harris.
