Eric Luttrell
GURLEY-On Sunday, August 16 the Gurley Police Department issued a stement regarding a BOLO for a susupect wanted for Assault of three people with a baseball bat:
“The Gurley Police Department needs your assistance in locating Eric Luttrell. At 2:37am on 8/16/2020 Gurley Police were dispatched to the area of Gurley Pike and Capers Drive for an assualt in progress.
Two Gurley officers responded and found that 3 individuals had been assaulted with a baseball bat, and that the suspect had also busted multiple windows and attempted to gain entry into a residence.
The suspect had left moments before officers arrived on scene. In addition to the 3 victims there were multiple other witnesses. Everyone provided the same suspect description, vehicle description and some were able to provide us with his name (Eric Luttrell).
The Gurley Fire Department and HEMSI responded to treat the victims. An additional officer responded from their home to assist with the situation. Officers fanned out and located the suspect vehicle. The suspect fled to the area of Killingsworth Cove / Acuff Road off of Gurley Pike and proceeded to ditch their vehicle and flee on foot into the woods.
Madison County Sheriff’s Deputies responded and helped setup a perimeter, Gurley Officers were able to recover the wepon used in the assaults, and towed the suspects vehicle.
Eric Luttrell however managed to evade capture. Multiple warrants will be issued for his arrest in regards to his criminal actions this morning.
Eric Luttrell is not from Gurley, he is known to reside in the New Market area. He had followed one of his victims to the Gurley area, as they were trying to distance themselves from him, but ultimately he was able to find them and then proceeded to assault not only his intended victim but also two others that attempted to defend the first victim.
Eric Luttrell has been arrested multiple times in Madison County, and was last released from the Madison County Jail on 3/18/2020.
