Graveside Services for Mr. Johnny Ray Watts, age 53 of Lineville, were Wednesday August 13, 2020 at 3:00 P.M. at Mannings Chapel Cemetery with Bro. Pat Hurst officiating.
Mr. Watts passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at his home. Born in Clay County, at the age of 10, Johnny had the chance of a lifetime to star in the movie “Stay Hungry”, which featured big Hollywood stars like Jeff Bridges, Sally Field, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. The movie was filmed in the Birmingham area, and the film needed a Fiddle player. Johnny has a left handed Fiddle player, and had won many Fiddle competitions as a child and throughout his life. He recorded his own Record in which he played the fiddle and worked in Masonry for most of his life.
Mr. Watts is survived by his wife, Sheena M. Watts of Lineville; two daughters: Nicole Slay (Greg) of Whitesburg, GA and Caitlin Parrish (Kyle) of Vicksburg, MS; one son: Dylan Brimer of North Carolina; 7 grandchildren; three sisters: Brenda Kubichi (Bob) of La Porte, IN, Jerrie Hayes (Michael) of Millerville, and Angie Smith (Lynn) of Lineville; one brother: Jimmy Watts (Emily) of Lineville; plus extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents: J.T. Watts and Martha Jean Carlisle Watts; and one sister: Alicia Jean Smith.
Eric Smith, Todd Stephens, Sawyer Stephens, Jacob Watts, Bobby Nobley, Dan Wolfe, and Joel Whittinghill served as pallbearers.
Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville is in charge of arrangements.
