Carolyn Scott Doggett took her joyous spirit and laughter to the heavens on August 11, 2020.

Carolyn was born on June 30, 1929 to David and Ona Scott. After her father’s early passing, she moved from Selma to Butler, Alabama with her mother and sister, Zelna. She graduated from Choctaw County High School where she met her high school sweetheart and future husband, Roswell C. Doggett. Carolyn later went on to obtain her bachelor’s degree and two masters’ degrees from Livingston University and the University of Alabama, respectively.

She returned to Butler and taught at Choctaw County High School for many years. She adored teaching and counted many of her students among her lifelong friends. She later became Director of the Choctaw County Department of Human Resources, continuing to touch the lives of others. She spent her later years enjoying retirement in Huntsville, Alabama.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, David and Ona Scott; sister, Zelna Scott Sparrow; and husband, Roswell C. Doggett. She is survived by her two children, Chris Doggett and Cym Doggett; two grandchildren, Scott and Patrick, and five great-grandchildren, Jack, Della, Lizzie, Emmie and Bishop.

Her love and laughter will be forever remembered and missed. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
