Graveside Services for Mr. Tryce Strickling, age 81 of Ashland, were held on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at Mt. Ararat Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Fuller officiating.

Mr. Strickling passed away on Friday, August 7, 2020 at his home. A lifelong resident of Clay County and High School graduate of Clay County High School, Class of 1957, Mr. Strickling worked as a loom mechanic at Russell Mills for a number of years, where he served as a hard worker and was well-respected by his co-workers. He was an avid college football fan and enjoyed listening and playing bluegrass music, specifically guitar, with his friends Richard East and the late Tug Denney and S.J. Denney. Mr. Strickling loved being outside and near water, and loved all of his granddaughters dearly.

Mr. Strickling was survived by his wife of 53 years, Willie East Strickling of Ashland; 2 daughters: Beth Strickling of Ashland, and Terra Strickling of Sylacauga; one son, Adam Strickling (Cassondra) of Ashland; 5 granddaughters: Ansley Leverenz, Madison Strickling, Finley Leverenz, Hartley Strickling, and Raylee Strickling; plus some extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Otis Bunyan Strickling and Mary Ann McCain Strickling; three sisters: Odessa Cox, Gladys Matthews, and Flossie Hanson; and two brothers: M.J. and Nathan Strickling.

John Jones, Billy East, Wendell East, Kevin East, Devin Vice and Greg Denney served as pallbearers
