James William (Bill) aka Grumpy Reed passed away at his residence, 5 July 2020. Grumpy was born in Foreman, Arkansas to Isaac Carter and Gertrude Shields Reed on 9 June 1940.
Grumpy was a graduate of Foreman High School, Foreman, Arkansas and. Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia, Arkansas.
He worked for 35 years as a civilian for the U. S. Army at Red River Army Depot, Texas, Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, Anniston Army Depot, Alabama and finally ended his career at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.
His hobbies included reading, fishing, hunting and watching TV. He was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church and formerly First United Methodist Church of Arab.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Brenda Rose Reed, daughter, Marla Reed (Scott) Cobbs, Sister, Patricia Ruth Tong of Foreman, Arkansas, two grandchildren, Langston (Heather) Cobbs, Leanna (Jasef) Wisener, two great grandchildren, Redding Cobbs and Amelia Cobbs. Many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, his son William Carter Reed, his sister, Shasta Reed Tristler and Brother and wife Jack (Mary) Reed.
Grumpy’s Celebration of Life Service will be July 22, 2020, 2:00 PM at Arab First United Methodist Church.A Private Interment will be at Brookwood Mausoleum after the service.
