Marvin Eddie Hardin, Jr., 82 of Rocky Hollow, passed away Sunday July 5, 2020 at home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Hardin was a member of Sumiton Church of God. He was a retired coal miner from Drummond Co. Shoal Creek Mines and was a 60 year member of the UMWA.
Graveside service and interment will be Wednesday July 8, 2020 at 10:00 am. Bishop Toby Morgan will officiate. There will be no visitation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Hardin, Sr. and Floy Hardin; brother, Bob Hardin; sisters, Bonnie McClung and Mildred Freeman and brother, Leroy Hardin.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Celia Godwin Hardin; daughter, Jan Upton; son, Marvin E. “Marty” Hardin, III (Molly); grandchildren, Adrian Upton (Reagan), Victoria Upton, Mason Hardin, Beaty Upton, and Drew Hardin; two great grandchildren, Lleyton Moore and Hastings Moore. Marvin is also survived by his brother, Harold Hardin.
