William Austin Baker, age 56 of Decherd, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020 at his residence. A native of Franklin County, he was born on April 19, 1964. William was currently employed at Teddy’s Lawnmower as a mechanic and had previously worked at Quality Industries from 1992-2019. A real “Jack of all Trades,” he was hardworking, generous, and loving, and will be remembered for always helping others. William enjoyed gardening, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren that affectionately called him “Pa.” He attended Decherd Church of God. William was preceded in death by his father, Charles Baker; grandparents, George William and Jennie Marie (Sells) Jackson, and William Austin and Lillian (Hill) Baker; and father-in-law, Charles Gipson. He is survived by his loving wife of thirty years, Jill Baker of Decherd; daughters, Ashley (T.J.) Cundiff of Winchester, and Emiley Baker of Decherd; grandchildren, Harper, Hank, and Hadley; mother and step-father, Mary Etta (Dean) Wallace of Estill Springs; sister, Charlene Petty; and mother-in-law, Jimmie Gipson of Decherd. Visitation with family and friends will be from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 18, 2020 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Glenn Thomas and Pastor Andrew Ragland officiating.
