Evangelina Gonzalez Patterson
September 11, 1932 – May 13, 2020
The much beloved matriarch of the Patterson family went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for evermore this week. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to know this wonderfully loving and gracious woman.
Born in Laredo, TX to Gildardo Gonzales and Paula Gonzales (Hernandez). She married the great love of her life, Robert Wiley Patterson, in 1966 and together made a new family with her two boys Ted Robert and Paul Thomas in Oslo, Norway.
She was pioneer in the Nurse Practitioner profession. She served as Nursing Supervisor for
the Madison County Health Department and taught obstetrics nursing and basic nursing classes for many years. Late in life Eva enjoyed art projects, singing, and exercising with friends at Christy Care Senior Day Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Wiley Patterson, and her son Ted Robert Patterson.
Survivors include son, Paul Thomas Patterson; daughter, Rondi Kelton (Gregory William); grandchildren, Rachel Nicaise and Rainagrace Kelton; sister-in-law and brother-in-law,
Patricia Ann Galloway and Herman William; nieces, Toni Gee Dennis, Robin Gee Cole, Renee Galloway Wilbanks and nephews.
Visitation was held at Laughlin Service Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 6 pm. A graveside service was held at Maple Hill Cemetery Saturday at 2:30 pm.
