Ruby Mae Kennedy Pearson, affectionately know as “Moody” was born on June 30, 1929 to the late Charlie and Renner Kennedy in Sardis, Tennessee.
To this union seven children were born in which she was the baby of the family. She entered into eternal rest in the early morning hours of April 8, 2020.
She was preceded in death by six siblings: Catherline “Chink” Tall, Pauline “Nunk” Robinson, Narline “ Nip” Timberlake, Charles “ Bub” Kennedy, E.H. “ Jab” Kennedy and Henry Louis “Bumpus” Kennedy.
She attended and graduated from Montgomery School where she played Point Guard on the school basketball team. She was a member of The Friendship Club where she enjoyed spending time and socializing with the other club members.
She worked as a factory worker until her retirement. She was a member of St. Paul Missionary Church where she once served on the Kitchen Committee which allowed her to continue her passion for feeding others.
She was United in holy matrimony to the late John Murray Pearson, Sr. on November 30, 1952. To this union eight children were born. Two preceded her in death: Gary Wayne Pearson and Starla Marie Pearson.
She leaves to cherish her memory five daughters: Ruby Elaine Hopewell, Abbie Lane Massey, Aletha Carol (Terrance) Gleaves, Tracye Monique Pearson and Tina Rochelle (Tony) Carnes; one son: John Murray Pearson, Jr.; one grandchild that she raised: Marcus LeSean Pearson and one brother-in-law: James H. (Ollie) Pearson. She also leaves fifteen grandchildren; one preceded her in death: Desirae Marie Taylor; twenty-three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
