Eric Scott Fugate
TUSCUMBIA-On Wednesday, February 26 the father of the 4-year-old child found wandering in a field near Littleville earlier this month according to Colbert County sheriff Frank Williamson.
Eric Scott Fugate, 29 of Phil Campbell was charged with one count of Willful Child Abuse of a Child Under 18. Authorities say the child had wandered from the home on several occasions. Fugate was arrested and posted bond in the amount of $10,000 and was released shortly after he turned himself in.
Ashley Christina Mayfield who faces the same child abuse charges turned herself into authorties on February 20.
The couple is accused of allowing their 4-year-old child to wander away from their home into nearby woods and pastures on two other occasions. The last time the child wandered away the Department of Human Resources was contacted and the couple’s children were placed in Department of Human Resources custody.
