Rev. John Robert Davis was born in Centralia, IL on July 24, 1935 and entered his heavenly home on February 23, 2020 following a long battle with Alzheimers.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Agnes Nattier Davis along with his children Ron(Linda) Davis; Jan (Randy) Reynolds; Beth (Tommy) Allison and Pam (Eddie) Anderson. His grandchildren include Chris Davis, Andy Davis, Jennifer Hornsby, Dustin Allison, Courtney Phillips, Megan Allison, Craig Anderson and Jesse Allison. He was also blessed with 11 great grandchildren.
He received his Master’s in Agriculture from Southern Illinois University followed by a Masters in Music at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He served as the Minister of Music and Youth for 17 years at All Nations Church, formerly known as Hillsboro Heights Baptist Church. He retired from Madison Baptist Association after serving as their Director of Education for 13 years. While with the association, he assisted in the establishment of World Changers Missions which served local families with fixed incomes. He was also instrumental in the development of Huntsville Utilities Project Share which also serves local individuals on fixed incomes.
In his retirement years, he enjoyed gardening, his grandchildren, great grandchildren and always helping and serving others.
Visitation is Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2020, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at All Nations Church, 3614 Drake Avenue, Huntsville, AL, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Larry Inman and Eddie Anderson.
