David Crockett Vickery, 90, of Double Springs, entered into rest on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Hendrix Health and Rehab. Crockett was born September 18, 1929 in Hodges, Alabama.

His was preceded in death by his parents Hebren and Pearl Vickery. He had 5 brothers: Travis, Deuel, Floyd and Fred are deceased and Waco Vickery who survives.
3 sisters: Loraine Scott and Hildred Stewart are deceased and Autie Bower who survives.

Crockett met Ann Ray in high school. He was captain of the football team and Ann was elected cheerleader at Hackleburg High School.

Crockett and Ann were married August 11, 1950 for 69 years and had 5 girls: Charlotte married to Steve Maranowski; Janet married Chuck Harkness who had two children and 4 grandchildren; Vickie married Ronnie Jean and had 1 child and 2 grandchildren; Sandra Cook, 1 child and 4 grandchildren; Elaine married Matt Brummett and had 2 children.

After Crockett and Ann were married, they moved to Michigan where Crockett worked at Ford Motor Co for 33 years. Ann worked at Bendix Aerospace for 15 years and did electronic work for the gravity meter for the moon.

They retired in 1984 and traveled all across America. They enjoyed going to church, camping and fishing. Loved their family gatherings, enjoyed barbecue chicken and hamburgers. They moved back down to Double Springs, Alabama in 1992

Visitation will be Thursday February 20, 2020 from 12:00Noon – 1:00PM at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville, AL. The funeral will be at 1:00PM in the chapel, with Bro. Sam Morgan. Burial in Cedar Tree Cemetery.
