Funeral service for Dessie Lee Barnes, 93, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, formerly of Cullman, Alabama will be at 2 p.m., Monday, November 4th, 2019 at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in New Mt. Zion Cemetery, Minister Fount Lackey and Rev. Steve Rodgers officiating.
Cullman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Barnes passed away November 1st, 2019. She was born February 16, 1926 to Edward Daniel & Maudie Lee Waldrep Thornton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Calvin Barnes; a son, Ray Barnes; granddaughter, Wendy Shorter; five brothers, three sisters.
Survivors include her daughters, Martha Ann (Larry) Goodall, Marie (Fount) Lackey; sister, Elsie T. Holland; grandchildren, Kim Goodall, Cendy (Jeff) Simpkins, Lori (Scooter) West, Ray Barnes, Jason Barnes; great-grandchildren, Brittany (Adam) Jeffiers, Whitney (Dylan) Hilliard, Blake (Olivia) Simpkins, Hailey Barnes, J.J. Barnes, Zachary Barnes, Wyatt Hunter, Cali Hunter; great-great grandchildren, Jett Jeffiers, Thomas Simpkins, Maverick Jeffiers, Remington Simpkins; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be Monday from 12 until 2 p.m.at the funeral home.
