Mrs. Madeline Jackson, age 93, of Arab, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at Diversicare of Arab.
Mrs. Jackson was born on February 16, 1926 in Clay County to Dewey Northern Shaddix & Velma Rea Evans Shaddix. She was married for 54 years to the late Guy B. Jackson who passed on November 26, 1997. Mrs. Jackson worked as a journalist for the Arab Tribune where she retired.
She was a member of Arab First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by her daughters, Madeline Kirk, Baba Jackson, Gwen Campbell Arrington (Wayne); grandchildren, Roger Kirk, Jr. (Kelly), Robbie Kirk (Mandy), Amy Campbell Martin (Joshua), Janice Campbell East (Ben); great grandchildren, Caroline Kirk, Sophie Kirk, Emmett Kirk, Kansas Kirk, Jackson Kirk, Jude Martin, Guy Martin & Lottie Martin; sister, Donna Knight (Marvin); several beloved nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Dewey & Velma Shaddix; husband, Guy B. Jackson; son-in-law, Dwight Campbell.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Joshua Martin, Roger Kirk, Jr. & Robbie Kirk, officiating. Burial will be in the Arab Memorial Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
