Edward Hollis “Hoppie” Wilson, age 82 of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at his residence. He was born October 2, 1937 to Clyde and Leona Wilson.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Limestone Memorial Gardens at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be Friday, August 30, 2019 from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be Limestone Memorial Gardens. He was a member of North Athens Church of Christ. He was the owner and operator of Wilson Welding for 50 years.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Clyde and Leona Wilson; brother, Gene Wilson; sister, Faye Defoe; grandson, Michael Eden.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Wilson; daughters, Angie Wilson, Karen Eden and Therese Phillips; grandchildren, Candace Wilson, Brandy Ring, Callie Brownfield and Alexandria Phillips; 3 great grandchildren.
