Robert Eakin OverallRobert Eakin Overall July 23, 2019 surrounded by friends and family. He was born on November 4, 1930 in Fayetteville, Tennessee. He was the son of Eakin and Ruth Overall of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. His friends and family knew him as Bob. He married Jo Ann Welchance on November 22, 1953. After they married they moved to Huntsville, Alabama and Bob worked at Thiokol Chemical Corporation. They had four children, nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. His beloved wife Jo Ann passed away on July 15, 2002.

He is survived by his four children, Patti (Don) Duke, Lisa (Larry) Kimmons, Rob (Amanda) Overall, and Bill (Mike) Overall; as well as his dear friend, Joan Willis. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, Tyler (Erin) Kimmons, Lauren (Andrew) Buzan, Amy Duke, Emily (Daniel) Burke, Jordan Overall, Matthew Overall, Allie Bennett, Nathan Overall, and Daniel Overall; and three great-grandchildren, Claire Kimmons, Lillian Kimmons, and Aiden Buzan. Bob loved spending time with his family and was always there in their time of need. He made it possible for his entire family to get together at least twice a year – once during the Christmas season and again during the summer.

Bob also enjoyed kayaking, bicycling, reading, and playing Bridge. He was an active member of First Baptist Church and the Kiwanis Club. He volunteered at the Space and Rocket Center and at PET International, which seeks to reflect the love of Jesus Christ by bringing the gift of mobility and dignity to those in developing countries who are unable to walk.

Visitation will be from 1:00pm at First Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 30th followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00. Bob will be laid to rest at Maple Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Missions Foundation at First Baptist Church or the Golden K Kiwanis of Huntsville.
