Douglas D. Emerson age 80, of Guin, Alabama died Sunday, July 21, 2019 at the Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Guin, AL.
Born on March 8, 1939 in Shottsville, AL he is the Son of the late Norman T. and Argo Kennedy Emerson and the Husband of the late Martha Gail Pollard Emerson. He had lived in the Pea Ridge Community in Marion County most of his life. He was a member and deacon of the Free Water Free Will Baptist Church, a member of the Pea Ridge Volunteer Fire Department, and had served in the National Guard.
He is survived by a Son, Kevin (Vickie) Emerson of Guin, AL, a Sister, Lynda Emerson of Boaz, AL, a Brother, Norman (Betty) Emerson of Hamilton, AL, one Granddaughter, Heather (Dylan) Cornelius of Bear Creek, AL, and a Special Friend, Marlene Carter of Hamilton, AL.
Services held Monday, July 22, 2019 at 2:00 pm from the Free Water Free Will Baptist Church with burial in the Mt. Olive Cemetery. Bro. Dwayne Hammontree officiating.
