Valerie Ann Roberts Woodall left this earth on July 13, 2019 to be with her grandparents, Tom and Mary Jo Taylor and Charles (Jack) and Alice Roberts; her father-in-law, Tom Woodall; and her uncle Jack Roberts.
Valerie, a graduate of Huntsville High School and Athens State University, was an avid Willie Nelson, Jerry Garcia and Auburn Tiger fan and always looked forward to vacations on Alabama’s Gulf Coast. She loved dancing to her favorite music and creating new and delicious recipes to share with her husband Grant, always leaving a little bite for their faithful dog and best buddy, Chorus. Family gatherings were not complete without a delicious casserole from Valerie’s kitchen, often presented in a War Eagle! serving dish.
Valerie is survived by her loving husband, Grant Woodall; her parents, Charlie and Lynn Roberts; her sister, Mary Lynn Roberts Kidd (David); her mother-in-law, Nancy Woodall; her sister-in-law, DeAnne Woodall McKenzie (Daniel, nephews Clayton, Carter and Davis); and her adoring aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Valerie’s sweet and gentle spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her and will be forever remembered as our “angel flying too close to the ground.”
Valerie’s visitation will be from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Friday, July 19th, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with the service to follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Holy Spirit will host a reception back at the church for family and friends to come together and celebrate our girl Val.
The family thanks everyone for the outpouring of kindness and support.
