David Oscar Watkins, age 75, of Florence, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 29th, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Spry~Williams Funeral Home of Florence. The service will be Thursday, May 30th at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Ronnie Marks officiating. Burial will be at Community Cemetery.
Pallbearers are, Chris Dean, Ron Camron, William Watkins, Michael Watkins, Jr., Gary Ellis, Thomas Martin, Chip Mora, and Patrick Shannon.
David was proceeded in death by his parents, Cora and William Watkins; granddaughter, Tocia McGee; great-grandson, Everett McGee; brother, Michael Watkins, Sr.; and wives, Patricia Watkins and Iris Watkins.
Survivors are his wife Marcia Watkins; sisters, Wanda Ashworth (Tim), Ruth Draper, and Polly Roth (Allen); children, Ramona Scoggins, Regina Ellis, and Cathy Watkins (Chip); step-children, Michael Watkins, Jr. (Mahaley), William Watkins (Jessica), and Melisha Bass (Shannon); adopted children, Ryan Fredrick, Patricia Anderson, and Austin Parrish; 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren with two on the way.
