Russell “Pat” Markham age 76 of Detroit, AL passed away Monday, March 18, 2019 in the DCH Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, AL.
Born December 26, 1942 in Columbus, MS, he is the son of the late Russell Veldon and Annie Gray Johnson Markham and the husband of Brenda Guyton Markham. They were married May 14, 1961 and had been married for 57 years. Pat graduated from Sulligent High School in 1961. He was a Veteran of the Viet Nam War having served in the US Army. He was stationed in Germany where he served as a medic in a hospital. He worked for Detroit Slacks, Robertson Brothers, trailer plant in Guin, and retired from NTN Bower after 30 years. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Guyton Markham of Detroit, AL, a son, Russell Patrick Markham (Jennifer), 2 granddaughters, Hannah Elizabeth Markham and Claire Isabell Markham all of Northport, AL, a host of nieces, nephews, sisters in law, brothers in law, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Veldon Markham, Annie Gray Johnson Markham Robinson and step father, Hollis G. Robinson.
Services held Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 1:00 pm from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Carter Cemetery. Bro. Tommy Spruiell officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 – 1:00 pm at the funeral home
Norwood Funeral Home of Sulligent, AL directing.
