Born November 6, 1934 in Paragould, Arkansas she is the daughter of the late Herschel and Ila Garner McDaniel and the wife of the late Guy Black. She had lived in Guin most of her life, was a member of the Guin First United Methodist Church, honorary member of the Methodist Men, and the Cokesberry Sunday School Class Treasurer. She retired after working 44 years for Marion County Banking Company and SouthTrust Bank in Guin. She was a member of the Guin Garden Club and also worked and supported many civic organizations in Guin.
She is survived by her Son, Russell (Marcia) Black of Blue Ridge, GA, Special Cousin, Phil (Kay) Segraves of Guin, AL, A Brother In Law, Robert Black of Sulligent, AL, Special Friends, Tommy and Jeanette Stell of Guin, AL, a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herschel and Ila McDaniel, Husband, Guy Black, Daughter, Peggy Black, Sister, Sharon Strange and Brother Sam McDaniel.
Services held Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 11:00 am from the Guin First United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Alexander and Rev. Belinda Freeman officiating. Burial in the Guin City Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the church Tuesday from 10 – 11 am.
Visitation will be Monday 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home.
