Edith “Nell” Toler, longtime resident of Tuscumbia, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2019, at the home of her son, Lee Toler, following complications of a prolonged illness.

Nell was born December 22, 1933, near Collinwood, TN, in Wayne County to John Wesley Nelson and Irene Viola Keeton Nelson. Nell was a loving and devoted wife, mother, nanna, daughter, and sister. She owned and operated Toler’s Ceramics for many years. After her children were grown, she worked another 25 years for American Greetings card company. She was well known for her bright, calm, and cheerful spirit, dedication to her church and family, and tremendous work ethic.

She is preceded in death by her husband of over 49 years, Aubry Lee Toler, Sr., son Jack Tolar, daughter Patsy Tolar Peeples, and sister Ailene Branom.

Nell is survived by her loving and devoted son Aubry Lee Toler, Jr. (Linda) of Dunn, NC, grandson Christopher Scott Toler (Samantha) of Benson, NC, and great-granddaughter Ella Christine Toler. Son Larry Dewayne Toler, granddaughter Carrington Toler Michael (Levi) of Littleville, AL, great-grandson Jackson David Michael, grandson Bradley Alexander Toler (Shelia), and great-granddaughter Lillian Toler. Grandson Luke Tolar (Melissa) of Athens, AL, great-grandsons Ethan and Caleb Tolar. Granddaughter Lisa Tolar Blume (Brian) of Dothan, AL, great-grandson Liam Blume. Granddaughter Tammy Peeples Goodwin (Shane), great-granddaughters Amy Goodwin, Shanna Goodwin, Allison Goodwin Collins (Mason), great-great-grandson David Shane Collins. Grandson Terry Peeples (Tricia), great-grandson Cody Peeples. Granddaughter Kim Peeples Dukes (Michael), great-granddaughters Breanna and Marissa Dukes, great-great-grandchildren Arionna, Zayden, and Jazelyn. Granddaughter Tracy Peeples Eldridge (Jody), great-grandchildren Katlyn and Justin Eldridge, all of Panama City, FL. Sister Velma Blankenship of Warren, MI, brother James Nelson of Columbus, GA, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, February 23, 2019, immediately followed by a memorial service in the chapel and interment at Colbert Memorial Gardens.
