Madge Pauline Bowling, of Muscle Shoals, went home to be with her Savior on Thursday, February 14, 2019, at the age of 85. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, February 17, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Monday, at 2:00 p.m., in the funeral home chapel. Dr. Greg Beasley and Chad Holder will officiate. Interment will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Bowling was a native of Colbert County. She was a member of Tuscumbia First United Methodist Church but attended with her daughter at Valley Grove Baptist Church. She served numerous families as a loving caregiver for the infirm and ailing.
Preceding Mrs. Bowling in death were her beloved husband, Marvin Bowling; parents, Leonard W. and Myrtle Sheffield Speegle; brothers, Leonard William Speegle, Hillard L. Speegle, and James O. “Jim” Speegle; and sisters, Nora Ellen Vandiver and Nettie Pearl Byrd.
Survivors include daughters, Mary Isbell (Dwight) and Deborah Thompson; grandchildren, Dr. Adam Isbell (Stephanie K.) and Alyson Isbell Estave (Chris); great grandchildren, Adelaide Rhys Isbell, and Micah and Ella Estave.
Pallbearers will be Douglas Myhan, Paul Malone, Paul Johnson, Henry Gotcher, Darin Boshell, and Joseph Boshell.
The family gratefully acknowledges the loving kindness of her caregivers, Dr. Jerry B. Willliams, Dr. Kenneth E. Rose, Dr. Bassam Choudhry, Dr. Johnathan Parker, Dr. Ryan Conner, and the staff of Helen Keller Hospital ICU and second floor; close friends, Madge Crittenden, Mary Lou posey, Betty Lindsey, and Jewel Larry; and her neighbors, Darrin, Susan, and Joseph Boshell.
